How to make bizarre topographical eye art

Jhovany Quiroz's art is "the human eye made weird and psychedelic." [Wired]

Quiroz cropped each frame to place the eye front and center. He adjusted color, contrast and light in Mextures, then opened the file in Glitché to render its 3D surfaces in topographic lines. Then it was back to Mextures for fine-tuning to make the images pop.
