Boing Boing fave Simone Giertz (of "Shitty Robots" fame) had brain surgery earlier this year, so it's great to see her back with an update.
Here's her sweet message to her subscribed fans:
I had a brain tumor. Then I had some brain surgery. Then I made a video about it. I've missed you.
Thank you for being here, and for all of your nice messages, terrible jokes and care packages. It's been an onslaught of love unlike anything I could ever have imagined. I wouldn’t wish this experience on anyone, but all of you made it feel like a bizarre blessing. #brainblessed #tumorhumor #whothefuckuseshashtagsinyoutubedescriptions #apparentlyido
Even with insurance (which she luckily had), major surgery often carries ancillary costs, so show Simone some love over at Patreon!

Game From Scratch reports a harrowing experience — an anonymous threat to pay bitcoin or have false claims made about their game dev tutorials to YouTube — and a horrifying one to go with it: YouTube’s automatic cooperation with the fraudster, total lack of human recourse, and loss of access to his channel after refusing […]
The Dad, How Do I? YouTube channel is filled with practical “dadvice” tutorials, everything from how to shave to how to change a tire to how to love yourself. Inspired by growing up without a father himself, the YouTuber created the channel in hopes that children without dads could find it and use it as […]

It was no small feat to be an energetic & effeminate fitness celebrity in the homophobic ‘80s, and yet he still rose to prominence and encouraged self respect at every size many years before it was cool. Richard’s videos didn’t just have us grapevining for our lives, […]
When you were 10 and your mom demanded you finish your vegetables or go to your room, you were mad. Even as kids, we hated it when we were ordered to do something. Car insurance is a federal mandate, yet that’s only one of the reasons why most Americans would rather do just about anything […]
We all know the drill. As the overlords of the smartphone and tablet markets, the braintrust at Apple very seldom hold sales on their signature devices. So rather than spending almost $1,000 on a brand-new iPad Pro, the folks in Cupertino are instead giving you the opportunity to score one for about a third of […]
Entrepreneurs looking for new avenues to reach customers may not have considered one of the fastest-growing content mediums today: podcasting. And we don’t mean just dropping an advertisement for your product or service in the middle of a popular show. Right now, there are about 850,000 active podcasts reaching 165 million Americans. Those listeners are […]
