Elon Musk on Tesla earnings call: 'I would prefer we were private, but that ship has sailed'

Elon Musk's electric car company Tesla lost $700 million in 2019's first quarter, and said on an earnings call today it will become profitable in the third quarter as it cut costs and improves delivery "after facing issues ramping up shipments outside the United States."

Elon Musk said on today's Tesla's earnings conference call, 'I would prefer we were private, but that ship has sailed.'
