Wearable robotic exoskeleton that transforms into wheeled scooter

Atoun is a Panasonic-owned company that makes "powered wear," robotic exoskeletons that augment human physical strength—for example a vest that supports the wearer in lifting heavy objects. They've recently demonstrated their prototype KOMA 1.5, a "powered suit" that helps the wearer walk but also transforms into a slow motorized scooter on wheels. Video below. Yes, it looks quite cumbersome but… it's a step in the right direction.

Here's Atoun's mission and vision statements:

Mission: To make a world where humans can have more physical freedom by wearing robots.

Vision: Robots become fashion. Colors and shapes can be customized to each wearer's preferences. We at ATOUN will keep making powered wear that lets you be you.
