Until Dawn gets a surprise sequel announcement

This is where I would clown on Supermassive Games for taking more than a decade to craft any sort of followup to Until Dawn, the interactive 90s horror pastiche that put them on the map. Notice that I said would, because the newly-announced Until Dawn 2 is not, in fact, being developed by Supermassive Games. Supermassive is off in their own corner crafting their similar-but-distinct Dark Pictures anthology, which have not reached the heights of that first project but have evidently been doing well enough to spawn several sequels.

Until Dawn 2, on the other hand, comes from lesser-known VR studio Firesprite and smacks of PlayStation's "throw everything at the wall until something sticks" approach to handling this IP. In case you forgot, this initiative also gave us an Until Dawn remake and movie adaptation in recent years.

Goodbye, snow, hello, sun. While this change in setting (and time of day) means the title no longer makes any sense, I'm nonetheless excited to watch my favorite streamer play through it and then promptly forget about it.
