Cat goes full threat-mode over owner's cat-shaped slippers

In this video, a cat makes it clear that there is no way in hell it will share a home with the owner's cat-slippers. The owner walks around the corner and stands in front of their cat, wearing fuzzy slippers that resembled the feline, who immediately doesn't approve. The cat begins making a guttural "back off" noise, warning them off.

Domestic cats are often far more territorial and perceptive than they appear. When something in their environment suddenly feels "wrong" or uncanny, they tend to freak out like this. In this case, the slippers seem to have hit a nerve because they resemble the cat's own form just closely enough to register as a potential rival.

I have a feeling the cat owner purchased these so she could cutely match her feet to her pet. Instead, she learned that they can only wear them sneakily, when the cat is out of sight. This video is proof that while we may think we're in charge of our houses, our cats get the final say.
