Hannah Montana Linux, released in 2009, was themed around Disney Channel sitcom character Hannah Montana, the in-world alter ego of Miley Stewart, as performed by Miley Cyrus. The bizarre and extremely memey distribution had not been updated since—until now! Developer Noah Cagle this week announced Hannah Montana Linux v26.0, bringing nearly two decades of enhancements to functionality, user experience and security.

Little is known about why the original Hannah Montana Linux was developed, released, and almost immediately abandoned. The version available via Archive.org is the only known release, identified as Hannah Montana Linux x86 basic edition 202201. It is still available if you'd like to test out a frozen-in-time HM-themed version of Kubuntu. You can grab it as a 691.7MB download via the link provided. Be warned that it is now "basically unusable," though, according to Cagle, due to being insecure and for its poor software support.
The new release "solves all the issues" one might encounter with the old one, and even the terminal is pretty in pink. But you'll need a whopping 8GB of RAM to use it, likely a significant upgrade on whatever your current Hannah Montana machine has.
I feel that Duncan Idaho now deserves his own distro. I'd hayt him to feel left out.
