Today on the Worth1000 photoshopping contest: Ren Party, fine art with party hats.

Ren Party 2

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

Rubenesque chicks in party hats? How droll.

  • noahpoah

Based on the (apparently non-comprehensive) set of photoshop contests from Worth1000 that do get posted here, I get the impression that all they do over there is modify fine art in silly, though photoshopily impressive, ways.

Goya and the Arnolfini portrait! That’s hardcore artgeekery.

  • gdholtby

Do you have some deal where you blog every single photoshop thread they do? It gets kinda old.

  • Cory Doctorow

@2 Well yes, if I blogged every single photoshop thread they did it would get old.

That’s why I don’t blog every photoshop thread they do.

    Whinefail.

As regards the Arnolfini portrait, you just gotta see this documentary by art historian Waldemar Januszczak, he’s actually English and speaks with a Cockney accent.

His documentary about the Sistine Chapel and how it relates to the Waco siege is similarly mind-blowing.
