Two very fun videos from the first-ever Boing Boing picnic, held this past weekend in San Francisco: first, a wonderful little montage of scenes, set to an original (composed live!) DocPop score, by Boing Boing reader Billy Green. (direct video link)

And then, what happens when you attach a Droid to a dirigible, by Boing Boing reader Neil Fraser. (direct video link)

The Snowden Principle

    Great videos!

The song used in the soundtrack is actually based on a sample from protestors at the G20 protests in Toronto. The audio in the above video was a live version of my remixing the song on my iPad using Chip Pad.

For anyone interested I’ve made my Riot Suit Remix song available for download here (along with a video) http://www.docpop.org/2010/07/take-off-your-riot-suit/

  • Billy Green

While I was editing the video, I kept wondering what they were saying, but I couldn’t quite figure it out. And now I know. :-)

Thanks again, Doctor Popular, for allowing me to use it. And thanks again, Boing Boing, for hosting such a fun picnic.

I hate to be the party pooper here Xeni, but calling that a dirigible is a bit of a misnomer, because dirigible means steerable.

  • BikerRay

So the Droid has image stabilization? You’d never know it from that video.

“What happens when you attach a Droid to a dirigible?”

I puke on my keyboard, that’s what.
