    He only played the Emperor in 4 of the films, not counting George Lucas’ Special Edition bullshit wherein McDiarmid was scrubbed in over the combined performance of Clive Revill/ Elaine Baker in The Empire Strikes Back.

    I have been watching Star Wars regularly since the mid-80s, when my mum taped the trilogy off the TV. Only recently, in my early 30s did I realise that Emperor Palpatine has a Scottish accent.

    You know, some of the spinoff stuff like the comics and novels are pretty good. The games, even thew hand-drawn series by genddy tartekofski(sp) was VERY good imo. I want this show to happen. =/

    For me to finally get the Star Wars that I truly want, the Star Wars of my childhood (clouded by nostalgia, as they are …which is proof enough that hindsight is NOT 20/20), Lucas will have to die first; because all Lucas is doing now is making hundred-million-dollar-plus home-movies just to entertain his own idiot kids.

    Wake me up sometime around 2043…
