TinkerMite: a wooden puzzle toy that turns into phones, tablets, and circuit boards

Nick sez, "Tired of greasy finger prints on your table? Tired of prying your phone out of your kiddos' hands? A Seattle-based startup, Tonkermite, is here to solve your problems with an innovative low-tech solution to teach kids about high-tech. The Tinker Tablet is a wooden puzzle toy with a magnetic, writeable surface for a screen with a hidden circuit board puzzle inside. The Tinker Tablet teaches children about technology components such as CPUs, Memory, Video and Power. The pieces transform from a tablet into a play smart-phone. The Tinker Tablet is 100% imagination driven with zero electronics inside. It never runs out of power."

Tinkermite Tablet: Low-Tech Play, High-Tech Learning! (Thanks, Nick!)

  1. I dunno, it doesn’t seem like it really “teaches children about technology components” so much as “sort of looks like technology components”.  There’s no feedback that these components even do anything.
