    National security is as political as Social Security, and just as we argue about the latter, so do we argue about the former.

    Except the latter is solvent until at least 2036, actually makes us secure, and is constantly under attack by those who would happily print and throw endless money at the first one…

    It’s all about fear…fear is the single most effect way to influence people’s behavior…yes, more than sex or greed.  In fact, greed is really the fear of someone else getting the phat loot.
