Meet Daniel Clowes in Los Angeles at Meltdown, June 5, 2015

I'm looking forward to interviewing the great cartoonist and screenwriter Daniel Clowes at LA's Meltdown Comics on June 5. Admission for this event is free with the purchase of Eightball. Hope to see you there!

Daniel Clowes will be at making his first Los Angeles appearance in several years at Meltdown Comics on June 5th to celebrate the release of The Complete Eightball, a two-volume collection of the influential and iconic comic book series, from Fantagraphics Books.

On Friday, June 5th, from 6-10 PM, Meltdown will be opening its Los Angeles doors to fans new and decades strong for a night complete with prizes, a book signing, costume contest, and an interview between Clowes and Mark Frauenfelder from Boing Boing.

Creator of touchstone stories such as "Ghost World", "Art School Confidential" and "Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron", Daniel Clowes changed the landscape of comics when he began publishing Eightball with Fantagraphics Books in 1989. To commemorate the 25th anniversary of its release, and celebrate the future, the biggest comic book retailer in California, Meltdown Comics, is pulling all the stops for this one-night-only engagement. Meltdown and Clowes's relationship dates back over 20 years, when Clowes created the venerable Meltdown mascot, Mel, in the early days of the store.
