Maxim Zhestkov (previously) created a mesmerizing exercise involving light refracting within computer-generated crystals.
Via his site:
The film was initiated as an experimental series of tests in Zhestkov.Studio. After some research, we realized that the beauty and visual power of these explorations could be transformed into an art film rather than be a series of tests. For a couple of months, programmers and artists at Zhestkov.Studio developed different approaches and played with the infinite possibilities of refractions and reflections. We developed over 1000 tools and principles of working with light and refractive/reflective surfaces. Coders wrote dozens of lines in Python to achieve some of the effects and behaviors of light. In the end, we produced some truly amazing results. Light and refraction in reality can behave only in one way in one condition, but in the digital world, where we don't have real-world restrictions, we can animate every condition and step further into the understanding of light and color.

Young @Pugloca has his finger on the pulse of the zeitgeist -- the self-described anime and Halflife fan came to Vidcon in this stunning cosplay: an influencer apology video, replete with many, many ads. He was spotted by The Atlantic's Taylor Lorenz.
Back in 2010, It Books published Mary-Lou Weisman's biography of MAD Magazine icon Al Jaffee: Al Jaffee's Mad Life: A Biography; I missed it then but happened upon Arie Kaplan's 2011 writeup in The Jewish Review of Books this morning and was charmed by the biographical sketch it lays out.

It's widely used by parents to track their teens, and this seems to be the summer where it comes into its own, with millions […]
Theoretically, there’s never been an easier time for marketers. The ubiquity of social media means a good word – or a good brand – can spread like wildfire with very little effort. But as limitless as the internet is, there’s a lot of competition and noise to contend with. And the vast graveyard of failed […]

When it comes to passwords, there’s no such thing as paranoia. You want them secure and complex, and you definitely don’t want to repeat them on all your accounts. The trouble is, the internet seems to keep growing. And so do those accounts. Just one lockout from an important email or banking site is enough […]
