I have a Capresso burr coffee grinder. It's still going strong after about 15 years. It costs just shy of $100 and it's infinitely better than a blade "grinder" (Which slices coffee beans, rather than crushes them as a burr grinder does). In this video, coffee expert James Hoffman looks at five different burr grinders costing around £50 ($65). Spoiler: he thinks these are all terrible. The sound of the grinders alone is enough to hate them, but the static electricity buildup (which makes it hard to remove the ground coffee from the collection cup) is also offputting. Hoffman says save your money and buy something better.
My favorite song about coffee is this 30-second hardcore punk banger by Descendents. They all laughed at me at the invention symposium (that I dreamed up in my head) when I showed them that it could be done! Headphone people generally fall into two camps. There are the dedicated audiophile types who have no problem rocking full over-ear cups to help drink in every morsel of the sound. Then…there's the rest of us. For us, we want great sound too. We just don't want to feel like we're wearing a 5-pound helmet over… READ THE REST
Every house is different. So is every lifestyle. With that in mind, it's easy to see how the seemingly simple act of getting home WiFi networked all-around your house might end up being a tougher assignment than you originally thought. Your WiFi router might be top-of-the-line, but dead zones, physical obstructions, or just some serious… READ THE REST
