With all of the writing I do about my love of animal ASMR, I can't believe I haven't featured the dependable, tried-and-true OG snacking and smacking: cats crunching dry food. I apologize for neglecting this incredibly obvious yet oh-so-satisfying sub-genre, but I'm here to remedy that oversight! The best of this ASMR niche, in my opinion, is an adorable six-year-old black-and-white kitty named Luna, who has gorgeous green eyes, a silly scrunchy nose, and the best set of chompers to absolutely crush dry food. She makes the loudest, most deliberate, most satisfying crunching noises when she's eating, and, lucky for us, her humans film it all and upload it to Luna's social media, so we can all enjoy her mellifluous cronching and monching noises whenever we're stressed out and need some chill vibes.
Here are a few of my favorite videos of Luna, who goes by both "Monkey Cat" and "Crunchy Cat" on social media, highlighting the funny feline at her crunchiest, most stellar best, and proving that she's the queen of cats crunching dry food ASMR. Here are three minutes of her best crunches, which clearly reveal how she earned her "Crunchy Cat" nickname. And these three minutes capture the ridiculously cute nose scrunches she makes as she crunches away on her kibble. She's not just a great cruncher, she also purrs like a pro — here's a video showcasing her soothing purring. Finally, here's a wonderful four-minute video that starts out with Luna crunching and then highlights her siblings eating, purring, and getting brushed. They're all super cute, too, but, honestly, Luna's the star of the show!
Luna lives in New York with her humans and her feline siblings, Elisa, Steffi, Pablo, and Chico. You can find her snacking to her little heart's desire on Facebook, Instagram, and YouTube. Go spend a few minutes watching and listening to her videos — I promise you'll leave happier and more relaxed than when you got there!
