Fun Flickr sets showing the making of a cute sculpture called The Jumping Brain.

The Jumping Brain is a limited edition toy created by artist Emilio Garcia that is a detailed plastic model of the brain, with, erm... webbed feat.

It comes in traditional lab demo gray, as well as red, green and blue and even has its own MySpace page.

This looks almost exactly like the Intellect Devourer from the old Dungeons & Dragons Monster Manual.

  • absimiliard

    OMG!!!

    That’s no cute sculpture . . ..

    That’s an Intellect Devourer!

    RUN FOR YOUR LIVES!!!!!!

-abs does occasionally consider that he might just possibly play too much D&D and as such blurs his line between reality and gaming . . .. which theory is almost always promptly discarded in favor of more gaming

  • Takuan

    sweet!, but no spring?

  • Daemon

#1 – Yeah, I was wondering what was up with the obscure D&D monster… though the feet are shaped slightly differantly than most images of the ID.

  • jere7my

Absimiliard, you took the reaction right out of my brain.

(Hey! Who’s the intellect devourer now, huh?)

  • urshrew

Total Intellect Devourer. Roll a Willpower save.

  • Anonymous

awesome sculpture I want one to

  • Krenath

    “Webbed *feat*”?

  • franko

i thought the same thing as everyone else — intellect devourer!

who knew we had so many old-school D&D geeks in da house?

  • Sunfell

This is your brain on caffeine…

    I want one.

  • bazzargh

There’s a killer on the road
His brain is squirmin’ like a toad

Yep, Jim Morrison totally called it.

  • Matt Staggs

Thank god I’m not the only one who saw this and thought “Intellect Devourer.”

Now, let’s divide up that XP.

  • milovoo

For some reason it reminds me of a talking pet from star control.

  • altgrave

amphibious intellect devourer (and the original a d ‘n’ d monster manual illo is superior to the one presented, imo)!

  • jjasper

Pfft. Willpower save. 1′st edition all the way, baby. ‘taint no such thing as “willpower”.
