Auditions for Maker Faire 2009 to be held in San Jose on Sunday, March 8

200903031645 We are now accepting entries for Maker Faire, which will take place May 30 and 31 at the San Mateo County Expo Center. This year's focus is Re-Make America, inspired by President Obama's call for all of us to participate in remaking America. We're looking to showcase "the risk-takers, the doers, the makers of things."

The try-outs are on Sunday, March 8, at The Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, Calif.

Here are the details

  1. I wish the Maker Faire would come to the other coast once in a while. NYC perhaps? Philly?

  2. For BoingBoingers not merely on the other coast but on the other coast of the Atlantic, Scotland is having its first ever maker event – McMADSAT in 10 days time: Saturday 14th March 2009, 10-5 at the Glasgow Science Centre. Come along and celebrate Scottish and English makers, young makers etc.

  3. I’d like to ask an honest question, with no ill intent or anything of that sort. The only reason I say this is because I could see it as a loaded question, but maybe I’m being too defensive today.

Why do you have to “try out”?
