Perhaps someone far more hip than me can explain the blob of drool(?) depicted on his collar?

    • deckard68

That blob is on the original Aladdin Sane cover as well. It’s supposed to be jizz, I think.

    • Jesse M.

the glob on the collar is just a reference to the original Aladdin Sane image here. According to p. 214 of this book it’s supposed to be a big teardrop pooling on his clavicle.

  • annoyingmouse

    Surely Harry Sane?

  • Grey Devil

I like the idea of the design but the illustration could’ve gone further i feel. Still nice though (:

Ooops. Ziggy Stardust had a dot on his forehead. The lightning bolt makeup was for Aladdin Sane, not Ziggy.

    • ZDepthCharge

Yeah, but Bowie described the Aladdin Sane album as “Ziggy in America”.

      • annoyingmouse

I like the idea of “Harry Stardust in America”. I’m picturing a second-rate tribute act struggling to make his way across the states.

        • David Pescovitz

Stardust’s lifelong dream, is to play the Lucky Slots Casino in Vegas, which, unbeknownst to him, was demolished decades ago to make way for a shopping mall.

The Rise and Mall of Harry Stardust?

  • debcha

    Harry Sane, for sure.

Anon #1, here is the original Aladdin Sane cover (as well as a bit of the backstory):

OK, I changed my headline to Aladdin Sane. I didn’t name the t-shirt though.

  • atomicon

    Hmmmm. Not like.

Daniel Radcliffe is a confirmed Bowie fan.

I couldnt find the original article, but here is an excerpt form a Details Magazine Radcliffe/Bowie photoshoot:

For some reason this just makes me want to recommend Jerry Cornelius to the Harry Potter fans…

Wow, Aladdin Sane… one of bowie’s more obscure efforts… haven’t thought of it in years…

most of you youngfolk probably never heard of it. Panic In Detroit, now there’s a song. “He looked alot like Che Guevara, drove a diesel van, kept his gun in quiet seclusion, such a humble man…”

This is one of the best mash-ups ever.
