Here's an excellent resource to link and re-tweet: a crisis/storm-tracking map from Google, with shelter information, and updated data on Sandy's expected course.

I don’t understand. How do I steer the hurricane in this game?

Unfortunately, the cheat code must be entered in a language that was a million years dead when R’lyeh sank.

The storm’s already passed us in Florida with (at least for me) nary a scratch and just a touch of wind and rain.  I’m doing some reading about Sandy as she moves north (and worrying about friends on the DelMarVa penninsula), and apart from all the other advice I’ve heard or given, one commenter noted the following, which I think is worth reposting:

“If you’re running last minute errands please remember your elderly and/or handicapped neighbors.  See if they need anything or if there is anything you can do to help them.”

Indeed.  Stay safe out there, northeastern US.

There are more than a dozen nuclear power plants on Sandy’s path.  Looks particularly bad for Salem and Hope Creek on Delaware Bay I think.
Sandy is pushing massive water right into Delaware Bay.  Looks like.  How high is their flood barrier?
