Conspiracy theorists are claiming that the two shiny spots on Ceres seen in photos taken by NASA's Dawn spacecraft are either ice or salt patches.
But applying Occam's Razor, a more reasonable explanation is that an alien spacecraft was damaged while going through the Asteroid Belt, and the crew had to bail on the dwarf planet, and are using mirrors as a distress signal. We'll know more as Dawn gets closer to Ceres next week.
