DC TV news crew's car broken into while they covered anti-robbery press conference

Glad to see that our nation's capital hasn't been completely gentrified, and retains some of the utlraviolent grit I remember from the streets in the 1980s.

ABC7 News, Washington DC reports that a news crew's car was broken into while attending a press conference held by D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser and Police Chief Cathy Lanier. The lawmakers and others were gathered to discuss a Task Force with the goal of reducing rampant robberies in the area.

According to ABC7 News reporter Stephen Tschida, thieves tore through the news vehicle early Wednesday afternoon and a culprit smashed a window out of the car and stole a cache of equipment.

Tschida said the crime happened a few feet away from where the mayor and chief were speaking.
