I've been doing research on antique tool and toy restoration videos. In my travels, I ran across a rather strange genre of restoration video: sneakers. On these channels, old beat-up, high-end sneakers are brought back to life. For some rescues, it's almost like completely remaking the shoe.
And yes, the mud-caked "discoveries" in the beginning of some of these are staged and shamelessly used for click-bait.
