Boox Tappy is a wireless e-book page turner

The Boox Tappy is a tiny Bluetooth device with two buttons and the legend "tap it" imprinted above them. You can use it to turn the pages of an ebook without raising your free hand from where it rests, alongside the tappy, or perhaps in a pocket.

With quick wireless pairing, you can connect BOOX Tappy to your ePaper device in seconds. Through intuitive controls, BOOX Tappy allows you to turn pages and scroll through content without touching the screen. As a thoughtful reading companion, it lets you breeze through books back and forth with a quick thumb-click, ensuring you stay in your reading rhythm.

It has "long battery life" and charges through USB-C. It comes with several keycaps. "Compatible with Note Air5 C, Palma 2 Pro and other BOOX devices with Firmware V4.2 or later that support BT functionality." There are multiple modes, Boox affirms, should you want to do something other than flip pages.

Browsing Mode: Perfect for browsing news or long-form articles. This mode allows you to scroll up and down through vertical content smoothly. Multimedia Mode: Ideal for "ear-reading". If you are listening to audiobooks or music, Tappy functions as a remote to skip to the previous or next track.

As can be seen in the product shot above, it can also be configured to summon one's lover or one's barista. It's like any of a zillion garage opener/remote shutter/smart switch Bluetooth gadgets, but it's not clear if you can use it for generic purposes.

A cute gift, looks like a joke, will probably end up frequently used by anyone who wants one: the perfect gadget! They're $26.

After 17 years, we have almost achieved the Mactini.
