The finance and economics blog Calculated Risk publishes an unofficial, periodically updated list of problem banks in the USA. The most recent edition includes 800 such institutions.Every time a bank fails, they post a haiku ode. Here's a snip from the most recent entry, regarding failed banks in Washington and Oregon

The Cowlitz Bank failed.
Udderly Ridiculous!
Their milk shake was drank.

Calculated Risk is the best econ blog out there. CR is even keeled, informative, knows graphs, and the commentariat is both absurd and brilliant.

Read co-blogger Tanta’s Uber-nerd posts on the (then-)pending, now historic, economic meltdown. Unfortunately, Tanta died of ovarian cancer in late 2008, but her posts are preserved. She was ascerbic, funny, prescient, detailed, and wore steel-toed bunny slippers.

Soylent Green is People pens the haikus, btw.

    Tanta Vive!

I was going to make a post almost exactly like this one.
It’s been on my daily trawl since before the crash. Irreverent, accurate analysis that’s been ahead of the game constantly.

      ¡Tanta Vive!

Of course, over there, BFF stands for bank failure Friday, since the FDIC usually comes in and closes banks on Fridays.
