GUITAR OF THE SKY, An illustration contributed to the Boing Boing Flickr Pool by Yau Hoong Tang of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
That’s very cool. It reminds me of this poster for the band Calexico: http://fuelfriends.blogspot.com/2008/10/new-contest-calexicos-moustache-hat.html
Actually I was in Houston and saw a guitar in the terminal that I thought of when I saw “Sky Guitar”
(not my pic, but it’s flicker so credit is given there.)
I was driving across the burning desert
When I spotted six jetplanes
Leaving six white vapor trails
Across the bleak terrain.
It was the hexagram of the heavens,
It was the strings of my guitar.
It was just a false alarm.
Exactly what I thought of…they should have given credit to inspiration.
@linernotes.. thanks for reminding me that I have yet to replace my long-lost copy of “Hejira”. This piece reminds me of Mason Williams’ Sunflower.
Very nice – I’d love to be able to get it on a T-Shirt.
Yah. . .this is pretty. Like.
What I was expecting, Uli Jon Roth’s Sky Guitar.
