€60 is a lot to spend on your kid's duvet cover, but there's no denying that this astronaut bedding from Snurk is pretty wonderful.

Astronaut (Thanks, Fipi Lele!)

I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.

“Plaats in Winkelwagen” is a standard way to get around several patents.

I wish they made it in Queen and/or King size, with two astronauts side by side. Any enterprising Etsy artisans reading this?

Side-by-side bedsheet prints almost end up in bitter turf wars; skip the hassles and go straight to these tell-it-like-it-is pillowcases.

ok am i the only one who thought this was about an astronaut doing a cover of the song “duvet” by boa?

Do you know what a duvet is?…It’s a blanket. Just a blanket. Now why do guys like you and me know what a duvet is? Is this essential to our survival, in the hunter-gatherer sense of the word? No. What are we then?…We are consumers. We’re the byproducts of a lifestyle obsession.

a blanket is to a Duvet is as a house is to a Home.

Neat, but a bit too close to a dakimakura for my tastes.

Also I hate white fabric for durability reasons.

Good luck trying to convince your kids to keep their boots off the duvet after this…

Oh, Cory. One day I hope you’re blessed with offspring of your own.

    • s2redux

That hoped-for day came five years (and two weeks) ago. (In before “post or it didn’t happen“)

Ah, couldn’t remember Cory’s family situation, but 60 quid duvet covers are imminent in his life, sorry to tell him :)

Disclosure: My wife converted me to duvet covers; they’re excellent.

My daughter would love both this and the princess one: https://www.snurkbeddengoed.nl/princess?size=854

When she was younger, she declared that one day she would be the first ballerina to dance on the moon. :)
