I was honoured to be invited to address the University of Waterloo on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Cheriton School of Computer Science; my father is a proud Waterloo grad (and I'm a proud Waterloo dropout!), and so this is indeed a very special opportunity for me.
Moreover, the kind folks at U Waterloo worked with the Kitchener Public Library to book a second event that morning, at the 85 Queen branch.
Both events are free, but they're ticketed, so book now!
Both events are on December 4, 2017.
I'll be at the 85 Queen branch of the Kitchener Public Library at 3PM. Details here.
I'm giving my speech, "Dead canary in the coalmine: we just lost the web in the war on general purpose computing", for the Cheriton School of Computer Science, at The Theatre of the Arts in the University of Waterloo Modern Languages Building (200 University Avenue West, N2L 3G1), at 7PM. Details here.
Hope to see you there!
Dream Askew and Dream Apart are "no-dice, no masters" RPGs where players collaborate to tell stories together without dice or dungeon masters: Dream Askew uses the system to create campaigns in "a queer enclave enduring the collapse of civilization" and Dream Apart is set in "a Jewish shtetl in a fantastical-historical Eastern Europe."

A sprawling interview with artist and filmmaker Johannes Grenzfurthner on his latest movie Glossary of Broken Dreams.
