US Sen. Elizabeth Warren announced today that she will hold a press conference Thursday on Capitol Hill to unveil a marijuana legalization bill she is co-sponsoring with Sen. Cory Gardner (R-CO).
Their goal is to "ensure that each state has the right to determine for itself the best approach to marijuana within its borders," per an advisory from Warren's office sent out Wednesday.
Warren's press advisory says the bill "extends these protections to Washington D.C., U.S. territories, and federally recognized tribes, and contains common-sense guardrails to ensure that states, territories, and tribes regulating marijuana do so safely."
They named the bill "Strengthening the Tenth Amendment Through Entrusting States (STATES) Act."
Warren's press conference is scheduled for 10:45AM ET, and they're streaming it on her Facebook.
