Trump: 'I will override the governors' if they stop houses of worship from reopening
Impeached president Donald Trump threatened states' rights today.
"If they don't do it, I will override the governors."
Trump announced on Friday the CDC will issue guidance for houses of worship to reopen, and Trump says churches are essential services. He said he wants reopening to happen right now, as in, this very weekend, coronavirus spreading be damned.
“The governors need to do the right thing and allow these very important essential places of faith to open right now,” Trump said at press briefing on churches reopening. “For this weekend. If they don't do it, I will override the governors.”

Trump re-opening places of worship. Saying that liquor stores and abortion clinics are open. That’s a strong call to his base. Re-election is clearly on his mind. Saying he’ll override governors.

"I will override the governors," Trump says. It's unclear if that's possible. He leaves without taking any questions.
