Scotland apologies for the historic persecution of witches

In March, in honor of International Women's Month, Scotland's First Minister Nicola Sturgeon took the extraordinary step of formally, posthumously apologizing "to all those accused, vilified, or executed under Witchcraft Act of 1563." An estimated 4,000 people, mostly women, were accused of witchcraft over a 200 year period. Two-thirds of those accused were executed.
