Speaker nominee Mike Johnson's MAGA Logic: "Roe v. Wade toppled over the economy"

The GOP nominee for Speaker of the House, Rep. Mike Johnson (M-LA), showed off his MAGA logic skills when he said it was important to overturn Roe v. Wade because the United States is in desperate need for its womenfolk to bear children who will grow up to be "able-bodied workers" and make the economy healthy.

"Roe v. Wade gave constitutional cover to the elective killing of unborn children in America, period." said the Constitutional law scholar. "You think about the implications of that on the economy. We're all struggling here to cover the bases of Social Security and Medicare and Medicaid and all the rest. If we had all those able-bodied workers in the economy, we wouldn't be going upside down and toppling over like this."

Of course, Johnson's argument completely overlooks the effects of Roe v. Wade on women's rights and health. Imagine the potential economic impact if women didn't have control over their reproductive choices. How many women might have had their education or career prospects limited? How many might have faced health issues or even death due to unsafe abortions?

However, don't bother asking Johnson about it. If you try, his squad will shout you down.
