House Rep. moves to force censure vote against Marjorie Taylor Greene (video)

Shortly after MAGA nationalist Marjorie Taylor Greene moved to force a vote to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D–MI) yesterday, Freshman Rep. Becca Balint (D–VT) turned the table on Georgia's rotten peach.

"Whereas Marjorie Taylor Greene has repeatedly fanned the flames of racism, antisemitism, hate speech against the LGBTQ community, Islamophobia, Asian hate, xenophobia, and other forms of hatred;…" said Balint on the House floor, reading her scathing 10-minute resolution to force a vote to censure Greene, which she first introduced in July — and which the House now has two legislative days to consider.

Balint then went on to remind her colleagues of Greene's harmful conspiracy theories surrounding 9/11, her blatantly false, anti-democratic conspiracy theories surrounding the Capitol insurrection, her calls for violence against her own colleagues and their families, and her repeated racist and antisemitic rhetoric. (See video below, edited down to 2 minutes, posted by Acyn.)

"Whereas, on May 25, 2021, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene tweeted that, 'Vaccinated employees get a vaccination logo just like the Nazi's forced Jewish people to wear a gold star,'" she continued.

"Whereas, on February 26, 2022, Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene appeared at a white nationalist event that was condemned by the Republican Jewish Coalition as 'appalling and outrageous that a Member of Congress would share a platform with an individual who has actively spread antisemitic bile, mocked the Holocaust and promoted dangerous anti-Israel conspiracy theories' …"

Later in the day, Balint continued to expose Greene for what she is, saying, via The Hill: "This woman, Marjorie Taylor Greene — it seems to be her only purpose is to sic Americans after other Americans, to fend more hatred, to fan more dissension and fear-mongering … We have got to have a bottom here."
