Back in 2011, Love Making in the Kitchen created some smashing pixelated Zelda cookies, using the method documented in this video. It's a disarmingly simple process: you split a shortbread dough into small batches, dye them with food coloring, then roll them out and slice them into square-ended "rods." Then you follow a template of your choosing and assemble them into a pixel-art image that you slice into cross-sections. The link (heh) below has a delicious-sounding shortbread recipe -- this looks like a great weekend family baking project!
I write books. My latest is a YA science fiction novel called Homeland (it's the sequel to Little Brother). More books: Rapture of the Nerds (a novel, with Charlie Stross); With a Little Help (short stories); and The Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow (novella and nonfic). I speak all over the place and I tweet and tumble, too.
