HOWTO make pixelated cookies


Back in 2011, Love Making in the Kitchen created some smashing pixelated Zelda cookies, using the method documented in this video.

It's a disarmingly simple process: you split a shortbread dough into small batches, dye them with food coloring, then roll them out and slice them into square-ended "rods." Then you follow a template of your choosing and assemble them into a pixel-art image that you slice into cross-sections. The link (heh) below has a delicious-sounding shortbread recipe — this looks like a great weekend family baking project!
