Pharmacist arrested after vaccine cards sold for $10 a pop

Heather Cherone writes that Chicago pharmacist Tangtang Zhao is accused by the Department of Justice of selling 125 authentic CDC vaccination cards to 11 different buyers for approximately $10 per card.

"Knowingly selling COVID vaccination cards to unvaccinated individuals puts millions of Americans at risk of serious injury or death," said Special Agent in Charge Emmerson Buie Jr. of the FBI's Chicago Field Office. "To put such a small price on the safety of our nation is not only an insult to those who are doing their part in the fight to stop COVID-19, but a federal crime with serious consequences."

Consider the implied distribution ecology: the buyers here paid in the $100+ range for numerous cards that then get sold onto individual buyers who need one or two each. Even fakes (busted!) can be sold for $50 or so each, so the authentic ones must go for more.
