Jenna Ellis is not only a crooked lawyer who venomously defended Donald Trump's 2020 Big Lie, she is also a bad actor whose tearful court performance in Atlanta yesterday was nothing to cry about. In fact, it made for a perfect then-and-now comedy sketch, with all the "thens" full of stupid arrogance and all the "nows" full of weeping regret (for being caught, that is).
How quickly Ellis went from the days of "Trump could literally cure cancer and the Democrats would find something wrong with it," to yesterday's guilty plea of, "What I didn't do but should have done, Your Honor, was to make sure that the facts the other lawyers alleged to be true were in fact true." Uh yeah, the most basic first lesson of law school. It's astonishing that she wasn't disbarred, and only received five years of probation.
