Disney princesses photoshopped onto real-world photos

In this fun series, visual artist Andhika Muksin edits animated Disney character heads onto celebrity photos and film stills. It sounds like it would be eerie, but the photos are perfectly edited and strangely compelling. Some of my favorites are below and you can see even more on Muksin’s Instagram.

Disney princess lingerie sets introduced

Yandy introduced a new line of Disney princess-inspired lingerie sets. The company doesn't name the sets after the princesses, but it's pretty obvious who's who. Will Disney let this stand?

Redbook asked four women to wear the lingerie to bed and report their experience:

Usually, getting ready for bed means a bulky sweatshirt and pajama shorts, so he was absolutely thrilled and got right down to business.

"He had zero clue that Disney princesses were involved in any way, even when I gently asked him if the lingerie reminded him of anything. His answer: "Sexy things." I prodded a little more, asking if it seemed like a character. "Is it Disney?" I was so excited and said, "Yes! It's a princess – can you guess which one?" I should point out that I look nothing like Snow White, so I was pretty impressed that he guessed Snow White right off the bat. "The colors made it obvious," he said.

Map of favorite Disney princesses by US state

What political insights can we glean from this map of favorite Disney princesses in each US State?

From Decluttr:

In second place is Pocahontas, one of the few American Disney princesses. She topped searches in 7 states, including the state Pocahontas is set in, Virginia. The most popular princess overall is Elsa from Frozen, who topped searches in 8 states. That’s no real surprise considering how popular Frozen is!

Interestingly, geography seems to play a part in which princess a state prefers. For example, Sleeping Beauty is super popular in the Midwest, while ‘cold’ princesses like Elsa and Snow White are popular in sunshine states like California, Nevada and Texas. Maybe watching them helps people cool down during a heatwave!

Beauty and The Beast’s Belle is the most popular princess in six states, including Arizona, Oregon and Idaho. We think she’ll become more popular after the new movie has been in cinemas for a few weeks though.

Zombie Disney princesses fell under a scarier, less glamorous spell than usual

Ongoing evidence that Disney and the horror genre are not mutually exclusive: zombie Disney princesses. DeviantARTist Clocktowerman has a mashup collection that will surely delight horror fans, Disney fans, and geek parents who are gently attempting to introduce the scary beasties they love into their children's lives. After the jump, see a few selections from the artist's zombie princess collection, including a full-sized version of Snow White. These ladies aren't after princes for their riches -- they're looking for a nice guy with a brain. A delicious, oxygen-rich brain, filled with blood sent from a still-beating heart.

Why they haven't made a zombie princess movie is beyond me. Read the rest
