Flight attendants are learning to punch obnoxious customers

There have been plenty of stories lately of unruly airline customers — people so pent up with their pandemic lives that they become explosive assholes as soon as they're in a setting with other people, making absurd demands of customer service professionals. The Federal Aviation Administration recently reported a record of charging over $1 million in fines for in-flight incidents, including "approximately 3,889 reports of unruly behavior by passengers, including about 2,867 reports of passengers refusing to comply with the federal face mask mandate."

So now, as NBC reports, flight attendants are starting to literally fight back. They're signing up for self-defense classes in droves, as seen in the video above.

I'm torn here between my pacifist instincts, and the fact that I have to admit that maybe the looming threat of getting punched in the face by a customer service worker might reduce the asshole power in the world, which would also be a good thing.
