View larger size here. Lovingly scanned and shared in the Boing Boing Flickr Pool by reader v. valenti. Art by Japanese illustrator Shusei Nagaoka, whose sci-fi illustrations were popular during the 1970s and '80s, and graced album covers by ELO, Earth, Wind & Fire, and Deep Purple. There's an awesome little archive of his work here.

Boing Boing editor/partner and tech culture journalist Xeni Jardin hosts and produces Boing Boing's in-flight TV channel on Virgin America airlines (#10 on the dial), and writes about living with breast cancer. Diagnosed in 2011. @xeni on Twitter. email: xeni@boingboing.net.

What’s really freaking me out here is that the Jupiter II is in the background, but that’s not Judy or Penny.

I still want my 1970s neon starship, but I’ll pass on the bell-bottomed pantsuit.

It’s great, but you are taking this from pinktentacle.com.. There has been no post since the Fukushima incident. Many readers (as I) have been wondering since what happened to the creator/author of the site, and I know some people already tried to ask boingboing for an investigation in the mater. So please, since pt.com was/is an awesome site, can you please spread the word so that at least we figure if the author is safe ? peace.

I’m sure the Mitsubishi Cordia XP looked very futuristic back in 1984, but now it looks hilariously out of place in the slick futurescape.
