Attention shut-in chaos cultists: Chaosium releases "Call of Cthulhu The Coloring Book" as a free download

In an effort to stave off boredom during the great quarantine of 2020, our pals over at Chaosium have made their award-winning Call of Cthulhu The Coloring Book available as a free download.

They've also announced a Call of Cthulhu The Coloring Book coloring competition. Share your colored handiwork on social media with the hashtag #homewithchaosium and they'll reshare and will be giving away prizes to their favorite entries.

'I Saw Mommy Kissing Yog-Sothoth' and other Cthulhuian Yuletide classics

Oh tidings of madness and woe. Gather 'round the Necronomicon, little cultists, and let's all sing these beloved holiday odes to Elder Gods. All the classics are here: "I Saw Mommy Kissing Yog-Sothoth," "Freddy the Red-Brained Mi-Go," "All I Want for Solstice is my Sanity," and "Awake Ye Scary Old Ones." And who can ever forget that rubber-room holiday favorite "Away in a Madhouse?"

A timelapse of Cthulhu being carved into a watermelon

Here's something that might make H. P. Lovecraft proud (or just really, really confused): a watermelon carved to look like Cthulhu.

In this very dramatic timelapse video from 2014, Italian sculptor Valeriano Fatica offers a tutorial on how to carve the monstrous entity into an ordinary summertime favorite. It's called a tutorial, but good luck trying to match this guy's mad skills. He writes on his site, "Watermelon is the most difficult material I’ve tried so far. I studied for years the right method to carve it best."
