This band used Facebook Live's lag to loop their song

If you've ever used Facebook Live, you know there is a delay in the audio/video feed. It's not very long, maybe a few seconds.

Instead of just ignoring it, the Irish indie band The Academic decided to lean into it.

They played their new single "Bear Claws" by looping it, as they explain (because I sure as heck can't):

We rearranged each instrument on “Bear Claws” to fit Facebook Live’s delay, with each loop getting more complex, adding instruments, rhythms, and melodies. Additionally, by projecting the video live from a soundstage we created an infinite tunnel consisting of all the previously recorded loops.

Triple shooting streamed on Facebook Live, just days after Philando Castile gun death

It's been less than a week since the deadly shooting of Philando Castile by police was broadcast on Facebook Live. Already, another U.S. shooting has been live-streamed with Facebook's popular tool. A triple shooting in Norfolk, Virginia, last night injured three men, one of whom Facebook Live-streamed the entire incident. According to reports, T.J. Williams (above) was one of the three victims, and is the person from whose phone the Facebook Live broadcast originated. Read the rest
